The beginning of something special

On the 4th of February, 2023, we officially launched the Tyrese Caesar Foundation Against Gun Violence.

It was a humbling time for all of us because the facts that brought us to this point still held a heart-breaking poignance. However, that same soul-shattering pain propelled us to act. We believe there must be a concerted effort to reduce gun violence; we all have a role to play: government, law enforcement, the judiciary, religious organisations and us citizens.

Gun violence is a symptom of deeper societal issues. We are not here to point fingers or ascribe blame; on the contrary, we are here to lend an empathetic ear to our young people and to help them develop into the kind of citizens that will propel Barbados forward.

Our launch ceremony was steeped in humility and resolve, and we are grateful for all of you who came out to celebrate the birth of an agent for peace.

We have a strong Christian foundation; our faith does not allow us to discriminate, and it won't permit us to quit.
